As more and more people decide to move to sunny southwest Florida, small rural towns are becoming grander. Little places that you would not have been able to find on a map are now challenging officials to recognize them as cities. With population booms on the rise, local towns people are finding ways to entertain the masses and put their newly adopted cities on the map.
In Bonita Springs, Florida, the Center for the Arts hold a very special event at the Promenade to praise the artists from all around for their talent and joys that their passion has given to all. In the early months of the year the festival is held one weekend out of the month, representing approximately 211 national and international artists. If the many booths and tables were not enough, the pleasantry of the services provided by the Promenade makes this occasion off the charts. Each and every year the committee responsible for the production of the affair is obligated to represent the highest quality of fine arts and to give guests an excellent experience.
The generosity that is involved in the festival seems almost limitless. Sponsors of the Art show reach tens of thousands of people, through their ability to bring an event to this community. Any donations that are made at this festival will help bring artistic programs, classes and performances in the area. Attendance is estimated at 30,000 or better for each day of the event with memberships of the Center for the Arts, approximately 1,500 people. The Art Festival of the Promenade has been declared as a “must go” occasion. Having more visitors than any other event in the community, sponsors believe this event is a faster way to reach such a growing population.
As noted before, the show is held during the peak tourism season in southwest Florida. The nice, warm weather invites all people to come and visit the exhibition. The traffic may be congested and restaurants packed, but everyone young or old can breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the talents presented. I attended a year or so ago and having studied many years of art myself was pleased to have seen the true aptitude of these individuals. There were many people loitering about the booths, excited and satisfied about their decision to journey out and take a gander. Vendors were very friendly, attitudes that would have made anyone’s day.
In a small town were occasions like these are highly advertised on radio waves, television airtime, and front-page headlines, it is a very special event in the community and a reputation like no other. Rated as number four in the nation, and number one in southwest Florida, this art show is one of the most compelling. The artists in attendance have an awe-inspiring story, their struggle to keep history in the making. If you are by any chance in the area during one weekend of the event, I highly recommend a visit. Between the stunning displays and the great courteousness of the Promenade, this festival will be one to remember.
